Hip-hop group Migos unveiled the sophomore album cover, "C U L T U R E" after the major success of their lead single 'Bad and Boujee' featuring rapper Lil Uzi Vert.
The track has amassed nearly 80 Million YouTube views and is seeing way over 17.5 million weekly US streams across platforms. "Bad and Boujee" is Migos' first single to reach the top 10 spot on the Billboard's Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs Chart.
Billboard Magazine reports that "the track treks up the list thanks to sizable increases in airplay, sales, and streams. The bulk of the points aiding in its rank come from 17.5 million weekly U.S. streams earned in the week ending Dec. 22, according to Nielsen Music, a 42 percent increase. It leaps 20-5 on the all-genre Streaming Songs chart, taking the Greatest Gainer award. It’s the single biggest streaming week for any song from either act." The track also saw a 280% increase from last week with 116,527 downloads.
"We knew we had something when our YouTube channel exploded" says Migos on their recent successes. "It signaled to radio and the streaming services that Migos is back with a heater."
XXL Magazine notes that "'Bad And Boujee' itself has numerous factors working in its favor. In addition to a growing radio presence of its own, “Bad And Boujee” is involved in an Internet meme that makes use of the song’s “Raindrop Drop Top” lyric. Its success on iTunes is, moreover, likely producing a compound effect: curious music fans are seeing the song in the Top 10/5, previewing the track, and then deciding to buy."
